A shocking incident has unfolded in the City of St. Louis, where a 7-month-old baby was shot and killed on June 26, 2026. According to official statements, Kiyomi Parker was fatally shot in the Baden neighborhood's 8400 block of North Broadway.

The infant was rushed to an area hospital by police after being placed in the back seat of their car. Despite life-saving efforts, Parker was later pronounced dead.

A 10-year-old boy has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the incident. This marks a rare instance where a child as young as 10 is accused of homicide. The Missouri State Legislature's laws dictate that juveniles under 12 cannot be certified to stand trial as adults, and therefore, the case will proceed exclusively within the Juvenile Court.

The baby's father, Ca'Marion Pawnell, also faces charges related to the shooting. The 10-year-old accused is currently in protective custody at a hospital, undergoing psychiatric evaluation.
