Temple, TX – The Temple Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault that occurred early Tuesday morning on Marlandwood Road. According to a press release from the department, officers were called to the scene at approximately 12:40 a.m., following reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, police spoke with the victim who reported hearing loud noises coming from an upstairs apartment and subsequently observed the door open upon investigation. The suspect then emerged, fired a handgun in the direction of the victim, and fled on foot. A detailed description was provided by witnesses: a black male, approximately 5’3” to 5’5”, with a thin build and short hair.

The injured individual was transported to the hospital for treatment; however, officials confirmed that the injuries were non-life-threatening. No other individuals have been reported as being harmed during this incident. The Temple Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is currently on-site conducting further investigation into the matter.
