A Bethalto woman, Amy L. Bryant, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for committing sex crimes against her daughter's boyfriend. The victim is a student at Civic Memorial High School.

According to charging documents, the allegations were reported to the Bethalto Police Department after an anonymous tip was received on May 4 of this year. An investigation revealed that Bryant had engaged in various sex acts with the teenager over approximately 1.5 years, including both public and private locations.

Bryant pleaded guilty to Criminal Sexual Assault, a charge filed against her just days after the allegations surfaced. As part of her sentence, she will be required to register as a sex offender for life.

The incident highlights concerns about child safety and the importance of reporting suspicions of abuse. The Bethalto Police Department received an anonymous tip that led to the investigation and Bryant's subsequent arrest.

Background: Civic Memorial High School has not commented on the incident, but it is understood that staff members at the school were made aware of the allegations through the initial tip. The victim was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center as part of the investigation.

The case serves as a reminder to parents and community members about the importance of reporting any suspicions of child abuse or exploitation.
