Methamphetamine Seizure Leads to Arrest of Sikeston Man
A significant narcotics investigation has resulted in the arrest of Jermare T. Farmer, a resident of Sikeston, Missouri. According to court documents, Homeland Security Investigations-St. Louis seized 570 grams of methamphetamine in Oklahoma on June 24.
Farmer was arrested after law enforcement intercepted an exchange set to take place in southeast Missouri. Investigators observed him leaving a vehicle with the suitcase containing the meth and placing it under a carport at his residence. A short time later, the suitcase was no longer visible, leading authorities to search the home. Inside, they found Farmer, two female subjects, and a juvenile.
During the search, investigators discovered:
- 128 grams of marijuana in a kitchen drawer
- 521 grams of cocaine in a safe in the basement
- Approximately 13 pounds of methamphetamine in a suitcase in the basement
Farmer allegedly admitted to knowing about the meth in the blue suitcase and stated it had been stored in his basement for around three weeks. The suspected substances field-tested positive.
Background: This incident is part of an ongoing investigation into narcotics trafficking, which has led authorities to suspect connections between Farmer's associates in Los Angeles, California, and Memphis, Tennessee. Farmer has a history of felony convictions, including witness tampering, receiving stolen property, and resisting arrest by fleeing. He remains held at the Sikeston Department of Public Safety without bond, with a court appearance scheduled for July 1.
