A suspect has been identified and arrested in connection to a burglary at a convenience store on Rock Creek Road in Toccoa, Georgia. Jeremy Frank Scarborough, 30, of Elberton, was taken into custody by the Stephens County Sheriff's Office on Monday morning.

According to authorities, camera footage showed a partially masked white man, later identified as Scarborough, attempting to break into the store on June 21 at around 11:48 p.m. Deputies responded to the scene and found evidence of forced entry, including a broken window and scattered cash.

Scarborough was originally wanted for arrest warrants out of Elbert County related to a probation violation. He is also accused of second-degree burglary, possession of tools of the commission of a crime, theft by taking, and criminal damage to property.

The sheriff's office obtained a search warrant for Scarborough's residence on Rumsey Avenue in Toccoa, where evidence linking him to the robbery was found. Scarborough remains on warrants out of Elbert County and is awaiting a bond hearing before a Stephens County magistrate judge.
