Montgomery, AL - A suspect is now in custody following a deadly shooting that occurred on Saturday night, June 27, 2026. Devonte Holloway, 33, has been charged with capital murder and first-degree assault.

According to Montgomery police, the victim was identified as Deadrain Holloway, 31, of Montgomery. He was found dead from a gunshot wound in his car, which was parked on Westcott Street near West Fairview Avenue. A woman who was also shot suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital.
