He was found by a pedestrian lying in the street near Norfolk and Broadway an hour later.
The shooting occurred after the Cambridge City Council voted to end the city's participation in the ShotSpotter program.
Bautista was supposed to be working overtime for the holiday weekend and starting at 6 a.m.
There was no opportunity for Bautista to receive emergency aid for approximately 60 minutes.
