CHESTER, PA (June 23, 2026) — Deamonte Moore, a 20-year-old Chester resident, has been bound over for Common Pleas Court after being charged with multiple offenses related to a robbery that occurred in May. The incident unfolded when the victim was attempting to sell clothing on Facebook Marketplace and agreed to meet a potential buyer.

According to testimony from the victim during a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Shepard Garner, he arrived at the designated location around 9:30 PM with his friend waiting inside their vehicle. When the alleged buyer failed to show up promptly as expected, two masked individuals approached them shortly after. One of the men identified himself and requested to see the clothing for sale, leading the victim to lay out the items on his car trunk.

The situation quickly escalated when a second man emerged from the shadows armed with what was later confirmed by the victim to be a .22 caliber revolver. The robbers threatened both victims at gunpoint, demanding passwords to their phones and digital wallets before taking all clothing intended for sale, along with personal belongings such as phones, wallets, identifying information, and keys.

The value of stolen items is estimated at around $2,500 by the victim who reported the incident immediately upon realizing his phone was no longer responding. Chester Patrolman Daniel Mullarkey testified that after receiving a tip about the location of the victim's iPhone from real-time tracking, officers pursued a white Jeep Grand Cherokee where Moore was identified as one of two Black male occupants.

Defense counsel Martha Abrams argued for dismissal of conspiracy charges related to the firearm due to lack of evidence regarding its operability. Assistant District Attorney Domenique Aguirre countered that clear planning and coordination were evident from victim testimony. As a result, while some charges were dismissed or withdrawn by the prosecution, Moore remains charged with 17 counts including robbery, theft, receiving stolen property, and possession of a weapon.

Moore was previously released on an $80,000 bond and is scheduled to appear for formal arraignment at the County Courthouse in Media on July 15. The identity of the second suspect involved remains undisclosed as of now.

This case highlights ongoing concerns about online marketplace safety and underscores the need for vigilance when engaging with strangers through such platforms.
