CLEVELAND (WOIO) - Cleveland Division of Police Fourth District officers responded to the sound of gunfire in the city's East Side on Saturday evening, resulting in a fatal shooting. Around 8:30 p.m., police received reports and arrived at the scene located near E 93rd Street between Euclid Avenue and St. Clair Avenue where they found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds.

Immediate medical assistance was provided by responding officers until emergency medical services (EMS) took over upon arrival, transporting the victim to a local hospital for further treatment. Despite efforts made at the hospital, the man later succumbed to his injuries and passed away.

During their investigation, Cleveland Police identified and detained a 33-year-old suspect in connection with this incident. Additionally, officers recovered two firearms along with several spent shell casings from the scene. The specific details regarding the identities of those involved or additional circumstances surrounding the shooting were not disclosed by police at this time.
