NEW YORK (WABC) -- A tragic accident occurred near Randall's Island on Saturday night when two Jet Skis collided around 10 p.m., resulting in the death of a woman. According to police, four individuals were thrown into the water during the collision: two men and two women.

The NYPD Harbor Unit responded immediately to rescue those involved. One of the women was found unconscious after being pulled from the water by emergency responders. Despite attempts to revive her at the scene, she was rushed to a local hospital where she later passed away. The identity of the deceased has not been released as of Sunday evening.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and have stated that their inquiry is ongoing. No additional details regarding potential causes or contributing factors were provided by authorities in either source consulted for this report.
