A local man has been charged with assault following a reported domestic dispute at Juniper Hills Apartments on Friday, June 26.
Jacob Milburn, 29, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault (domestic violence), a Class B felony. He is also facing charges of alcohol intoxication in a public place, first offense, which is a violation.
According to police reports, the victim alleged that Milburn repeatedly struck her in the head and then cut himself with a knife before fleeing the scene. The victim had visible injuries, including a black eye and dried blood on her clothing.
Milburn was previously contacted by law enforcement at 6:29 p.m. on Friday after he allegedly became agitated outside a residence and attempted to enter. He claimed to have been drinking moonshine and was noted to be under the influence of alcohol when officers located him walking on Louisville Road.
Milburn is lodged in the Franklin County Regional Jail on a $5,000 full-cash bond. This incident marks his second contact with law enforcement within a five-hour span.
