NORTH COLLEGE HILL, Ohio (WXIX) - A homicide investigation is currently underway following the fatal shooting of a woman early Monday morning on Carpenter Drive in North College Hill. According to the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, police were called to the scene around 1:30 a.m., and as of five hours later, law enforcement officials from both North College Hill and Colerain Township are still at the location along with deputies from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
The victim was transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. No additional details regarding the identity or background of the deceased have been released by authorities as of press time.
Local residents reported seeing multiple armed officers entering a home near Carpenter Drive, suggesting an ongoing search for evidence and possible suspects. A woman who lives nearby told FOX19 NOW that an officer informed her someone had been shot and advised her to return inside.
