CRISP COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - On June 9, Love & Hip Hop television star and rapper Benzino was arrested near Arabi after a traffic stop on Interstate 75. The incident occurred when an officer observed Benzino driving a silver SUV at 91 miles per hour in a 70-mph zone using a laser speed detection device.

During the interaction with law enforcement, Benzino admitted that he did not possess a valid driver’s license due to unresolved child support issues and informed officers of marijuana inside his vehicle. A subsequent search revealed two bags containing suspected marijuana—one found in the driver's side door and another under a blanket on the back seat where Ruth Lewis was seated.

Lewis confessed ownership of the drugs, leading to her arrest alongside Benzino. Ashley Bell, identified as the owner of the SUV, stated that she had allowed Benzino to drive because she needed sleep after taking medication. As a result, Bell faced citations for permitting an unlicensed driver to operate her vehicle.

Benzino’s license was found to be suspended due to multiple offenses during a records check by authorities. Both Benzino and Lewis were taken into custody and transported to the Crisp County Jail pending further legal proceedings. Additional court details are not currently available, according to WALB news sources.
