SALYERSVILLE, KY — On Friday evening, Magoffin County Sheriff’s Office and Salyersville Police responded to an incident described as a “rolling domestic” involving John Hayden Fleming, 25, of Ermine. The vehicle was located approximately eight miles west of Salyersville with its hazard lights on the side of Mountain Parkway.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found Fleming in the driver’s seat exhibiting strong signs of alcohol consumption and failing field sobriety tests. His wife, who was seated beside him as a passenger, had visible injuries including a bloody nose and a large bite mark on her arm. She reported that Fleming had been drinking all day and repeatedly assaulting her through punching and biting.

Fleming admitted to consuming Bootlegger beer throughout the day before driving under the influence (DUI). He was charged with DUI, fourth-degree assault, and wanton endangerment for placing his wife in danger while intoxicated behind the wheel. Additional charges of resisting arrest, menacing, and disorderly conduct were added after Fleming threatened officers during transport to Magoffin County Jail.

Currently held at Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Fleming faces severe legal consequences following this incident that endangered both public safety and family welfare.
