A 23-year-old Milwaukee man has been charged with several felonies related to a fatal car crash on June 21. Alan Ontiveros is accused of driving drunk and causing the collision, which resulted in the death of Faisal Hussain, 47.
According to prosecutors, Ontiveros had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.136, nearly twice the legal limit, at the time of the crash. Surveillance video from a nearby business showed a car crossing the center line and causing the collision with another vehicle. Witnesses identified Ontiveros as the driver who attempted to flee the scene.
Ontiveros does not have a valid driver's license, according to Wisconsin Department of Transportation records. He is charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, second-degree reckless homicide, hit-and-run involving death, knowingly operating a vehicle without a valid license causing death, and homicide by use of vehicle with prohibited alcohol concentration.
Ontiveros was taken into custody on June 27 and remains in jail with bail set at $150,000. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 6.
