A joint operation between law enforcement agencies in Georgia and North Carolina resulted in the arrest of two suspects on narcotics trafficking charges. The investigation, led by the Union County Safe Street Task Force, targeted known drug traffickers operating throughout the region.

According to authorities, over 3 ounces of methamphetamine and approximately half an ounce of fentanyl were seized during the operation. The drugs were destined for locations in Cherokee County, North Carolina, and Union County, Georgia.

Two suspects, Forest Shane Lynn and Starla Normand, were arrested on June 22 and charged with narcotics trafficking. Law enforcement officials credited strong cooperation among neighboring agencies and public assistance for the success of the operation.

The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Union County Safe Street Task Force, Cherokee County narcotics agents, and deputies from Gilmer County, Georgia. The authorities noted that interagency cooperation and dedicated investigators played a significant role in disrupting illegal drug trafficking networks.

In a statement, Union County Sheriff Shawn Dyer emphasized the importance of public assistance in ongoing investigations involving drug trafficking organizations operating throughout the region.
