On June 30, 2026, the Polk County Sheriff's Office announced that 15 individuals had been arrested for stealing food and drinks from a Wawa store in Davenport. According to investigators, all of the suspects were staying at an Airbnb while visiting Polk County from other Florida counties.

The theft is believed to have occurred over about 15 minutes, with some of the suspects eating and drinking the items before leaving. Employees reported that the group blocked clerks' views to help others steal. Deputies recovered unconsumed items, collected empty bottles and packaging, and obtained surveillance video showing the coordinated thefts.

The stolen items included Calypso drinks, Brisk iced tea, a bag of Cheetos, and ramen soup, valued at approximately $40. All suspects admitted taking the items during questioning.

A total of 12 adults and 3 juveniles were arrested in connection with the incident. The list of retail theft suspects includes:

  • Sterllin Hyppolite (18) - Lauderdale Lakes, FL
  • Davends Clerge (21) - Boynton Beach, FL
  • Garvens Clerge (18) - Boynton Beach, FL
  • Schneider Joseph (22) - Lantana, FL
  • Richemond Seraphin (21) - Lantana, FL
  • William Butler (18) - Lake Worth, FL
  • Janeen Gonzalez (17 during arrest, now 18) - Palm Beach, FL

A 16th suspect, Jayden Murphy, was also arrested after interfering with the investigation and refusing to move away.
