In a series of arrests made over the past few weeks, several individuals have been charged with various drug-related offenses in St. Clair County, Alabama.

According to reports, Matthew Romine, 40, was arrested on June 13 and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, a Class A felony that carries a mandatory sentence of three years to life in prison if convicted. The charge is based on the weight of the substance, which must be at least 28 grams or approximately one ounce.

In addition to Romine's arrest, several others have been taken into custody for various drug-related offenses. These include:

  • Dewayne Sanders, 43, who was charged with two counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance on June 18.
  • Johnathan Woods, 39, who was arrested and charged with three counts of unlawful distribution on the same day as Sanders.
  • Christopher Norwood, 42, who was charged with unlawful possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction by false identity, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance on June 17.

The arrests are part of an ongoing effort to combat the illegal drug trade in St. Clair County.
