A reserve officer with the Zachary Police Department has been arrested on domestic violence charges. Troy Viccellio, who is also a part-owner of the gun store Baker Range, was taken into custody by East Feliciana Parish deputies on Sunday in Ethel.
Viccellio faces two counts of domestic abuse battery and one count of false imprisonment. After his arrest, he was removed from his position at the police department. The investigation is ongoing, according to ZPD officials.
Details about the incident are limited as the investigation continues. However, it has been confirmed that Viccellio's arrest occurred on Sunday in East Feliciana Parish.
Troy Viccellio's connection to law enforcement and the gun store Baker Range may raise questions about potential conflicts of interest or concerns regarding his ability to serve as a reserve officer while also being involved in a business related to firearms. However, no further information is available at this time.
The Zachary Police Department has removed Viccellio from his position pending the outcome of the investigation.
