Police seized a large quantity of etomidate capsules, ice, and heroin worth about HK$180,000 from a BMW suspected to be used as a drug delivery vehicle in Yau Ma Tei on Monday night. Three local men aged between 25 and 43 were arrested on suspicion of trafficking in dangerous drugs.
According to police, officers from the Yau Tsim district uniform patrol squad spotted the suspicious vehicle on Reclamation Street around 8pm and stopped it for inspection. Inside the car, police found about 413 suspected etomidate capsules, 87 grams of suspected ice, and two packages of suspected heroin weighing about 51 grams.
This incident is one of several recent drug-related arrests in Hong Kong. On Sunday afternoon, a 17-year-old boy was arrested in Wong Tai Sin for allegedly trafficking in dangerous drugs after collapsing outside Wing Sin House. Police found 16 suspected etomidate capsules and 25 e-cigarettes worth about HK$4,200 on him.
The cases are being handled by the Yau Tsim district criminal investigation team and the Wong Tai Sin district criminal investigation team, respectively.
