El Paso, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Three siblings were arrested Monday following a violent incident that began at the Vista Market on Montana Avenue Saturday night. According to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, brothers Isaiah Jonathan Cardenas, 20, Felipe De Jesus Cardenas, 22, and their sister Zaithed Janet Cardenas are accused of stabbing two individuals during an altercation inside the grocery store.

Deputies arrived at Vista Market after receiving reports of a stabbing but found that both suspects and victims had already left the scene. Investigators located one victim at a nearby hospital where they were being treated for serious injuries, while evidence was later recovered from the suspect vehicle hidden six miles north in Sun Beam Drive.

On Sunday, Isaiah Jonathan Cardenas and Felipe De Jesus Cardenas were identified as the primary suspects involved in the stabbing incident. They were found barricaded inside an apartment complex on South Mesa Hills along with their sister Zaithed Janet Cardenas and their mother following a brief standoff with law enforcement authorities. The situation escalated into a full SWAT operation, which was captured by local residents and shared widely online.

All three siblings eventually surrendered to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office after negotiations. They were subsequently booked into the downtown jail on various charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for Isaiah Jonathan Cardenas, family violence-related assaults for Felipe De Jesus Cardenas, and hindering apprehension or prosecution for Zaithed Janet Cardenas.

The incident has raised concerns about public safety in El Paso and highlighted the need for swift law enforcement response to violent crimes. The community continues to monitor developments as legal proceedings move forward against the arrested individuals.
