A violent incident occurred in north Wichita on Friday night, leaving two people injured and one suspect arrested.

According to the Wichita Police Department, at around 10:28 p.m. on June 29, officers received an alert from the Raven Gunshot Detection System, prompting a response to the intersection of 14th Street North and Piatt. A shooting was reported in the 1400 block of N Piatt, where a 15-year-old girl suffered a graze wound to her upper body and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A separate victim, an 18-year-old woman, arrived at St. Francis Hospital around 10:38 p.m., also suffering from a gunshot wound to her lower body. Investigation revealed that both victims were injured in the same location, which is believed to be connected to an ongoing dispute between those involved.

The suspect, identified as Adrian Perez (21), was found on Saturday and arrested without incident. He has been booked into jail on charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and criminal damage to property.
