A woman was killed on Monday when a motorist drove onto the sidewalk outside a cafe in Simi Valley, California. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. near Urbane Cafe at 2091 Madera Road, Unit A.

According to police, the driver of a Tesla SUV attempted to turn right from northbound traffic into an eastbound direction but failed to make the turn and drove onto the sidewalk instead. Surveillance video from neighboring businesses captured the incident.

The woman who was killed was walking on the sidewalk at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, described as an elderly woman, was taken to a hospital with complaints of pain to her chest and arm.
