Brian Keith Moroney was booked into the Ashland County jail on Aug. 3, 2026 and is held for the Ashland County Sheriff's Office, according to the office's public jail roster. The roster lists four charges and cites an Ohio Revised Code section for each: unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, under ORC 2907.04; illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, under ORC 2907.323(A)(3); pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, under ORC 2907.322(A)(5); and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, under ORC 2907.31(A)(1). The roster shows a bond amount of $0.00 on each.

The code grades those offenses separately. Unlawful sexual conduct with a minor is a felony of the fourth degree under ORC 2907.04(B)(1), and the same section provides other degrees in circumstances the booking record does not state. A violation of ORC 2907.323(A)(3) — possessing or viewing the material — is a felony of the fifth degree, and a violation of ORC 2907.322(A)(5) — soliciting, receiving or purchasing it — is a felony of the fourth degree; each rises one degree where the person has a prior conviction under the other section. Disseminating matter harmful to juveniles is a misdemeanor of the first degree under ORC 2907.31, rising to a felony where the material itself is obscene.

A jail roster records who is in custody and the charges an agency entered at intake. It is not a conviction, and it does not establish that the person committed the acts alleged. No disposition is recorded, and the roster shows no court date. Any penalty attached to these code sections applies only upon conviction. Moroney is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
