Brunswick County booking records show Xavier Lee Espinoza, 25, was booked at Brunswick Jail on July 27, 2026. The record lists one charge, “INDECENT LIBERTIES WITH CHILD,” under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 14-202.1, and lists “No Bond.”

WWAY and WECT reported that the arrest followed an undercover investigation. WECT reported that a Brunswick County detective was posing online as a teenager; WWAY likewise described the matter as an undercover child-exploitation investigation. The booking data identifies an arrest and charge but does not establish guilt.

North Carolina’s official statute page titles § 14-202.1 “Taking indecent liberties with children” and classifies the offense as a Class F felony. That classification describes the charged offense; it is not a finding that Espinoza committed it.

Espinoza is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
